When did Agile begin? Some say the answer is 2001, but that date doesn't appropriately reflect history. Agile's origins — including incremental software development — can be clearly traced back to 1957. Agile has a relatively long and colorful history. Many key events occurred before, during, and after 2001.

"Agile's History" — a 2-minute video from Exceptional Agility — highlights key events and advancements in agile over time. A criteria for inclusion is that each entry has one or more objective and credible citation(s). It's an overview; it's not an exhaustive list of every possible event.
